WELCOME

Elderly care in Nepal has been the primary responsibility of a family.
However, there were many senior citizens who were neglected by their families due to several reasons. Hence, the Pasupati Old Age Home was established in 1938 B.S.to provide support, security and care for neglected, dependant-less, economically vulnerable and unattended senior citizens.

After this historic endeavor, several other institutions came into existence. Many among them had been closed prematurely, whereas a few survived. The support, care and protection for such elderly people could not get priority and attention until now. Hence, there was a great need of an integrated institution, which could study the geriatric problem in Nepal, may weigh its support needs and viabilities and might provide intensive services from day care to outreach including a home for elderly, geriatric hospital and a study center.

In this broader context, Devighat Senior Citizen Protection and Study Foundation (DSCF Nepal) was established in 2010. The DSCF Nepal has been working to create infrastructures since its inception. DSCF Nepal is a non-governmental welfare organization, which is registered at District Administration Office, Nuwakot and has also been associated with Social Welfare Council, Nepal.
